🎁 The deal
![]()
The bonus comes in two parts, per Citi’s promo T&Cs. Miles are our maths at Citi’s 25,000 points to 10,000 miles KrisFlyer ratio, from Citi’s points transfer page.
| What you do | Citi points | KrisFlyer miles |
|---|---|---|
| Pay the S$651.82 annual fee | 50,000 | 20,000 |
| Spend S$14,000 within 2 months of approval | 62,500 | 25,000 |
| Total | 112,500 | 45,000 |
What does each mile cost?
| Scenario | Fee | Miles | Per mile* |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hit spend + pay fee | S$651.82 | 45,000 | 1.45¢ |
| Pay fee, miss spend | S$651.82 | 20,000 | 3.26¢ |
*Our maths: fee ÷ miles.
Otto's Value Rating: Good (1.45¢ per mile)
Based on hitting the S$14,000 spend. Our own rule of thumb (opinion, not fact): what you pay in fees ÷ miles you get.
Can I skip the fee?
❌ No. The S$651.82 annual fee can't be waived if you want the bonus. The 50,000 Annual Fee Bonus points only come when you pay it.
Citi doesn’t publish a fee waiver for the Prestige card (FAQ, info sheet). Citigold clients may get card fee waivers as a banking perk, but then there’s no 50,000-point bonus.
💳 How to get it

What do I need to spend?
S$14,000 within 2 months of approval. That works out to about S$7,000 a month.
Worked example: if your family already has a big trip to pay for, plus the usual groceries and dining, S$7,000 a month might happen on its own. If not, this deal isn’t for you.

Otto's tip
Apply just before a big planned purchase. The 2 months start from approval, not from when you apply.
What counts, what doesn’t
Short version: normal shopping counts. Anything loan-ish, refunded, a bill payment or a bank charge doesn’t. Good news: spend on supplementary cards counts too (the points go to the main cardholder).
✅ Counts
- Dining out
- Groceries
- Online shopping
- Everyday retail buys
❌ Doesn't count
- Instalment plans (EPP, PayLite, FlexiBill)
- Bill payments
- E-wallet top-ups (GrabPay, EZ-Link, YouTrip)
- Instalment loans
- Cash advances & quasi-cash
- Balance transfers
- Refunded or disputed buys
- Card fees & interest
- GST

Am I eligible?
- Income: S$120,000.
- New to Prestige: you don’t hold a Citi Prestige card now, and haven’t closed one in the past 12 months.
- How to apply: online or in the Citi app, between 1 Jul and 30 Nov 2026.
- Timing: the card must be approved and opened within 30 days of applying.

What could you save? (indicative rates, vary by date)
| Stay (4 nights) | Typical rate | You save | Stays to cover the S$651.82 fee |

🤔 Should you get it?
![]()
👍 Good for you if…
- A big expense is already coming in the next 2 months: renovation, wedding banquet, or booking the family’s year-end holiday.
- You pay it as an ordinary card purchase at the shop or online. Bill payments and e-wallet top-ups don’t count, so check how the merchant charges you.
- Your household’s monthly spend is near S$7,000 anyway.
👋 Skip it if…
- S$14,000 in 2 months isn’t spend you already have planned.
- You’ve held a Citi Prestige card in the last 12 months.
- You earn under S$120,000.
- S$651.82 a year isn’t worth it to you for the renewal points and perks.
Which kakis it suits
| Tier | Our take |
|---|---|
| Starter Kakis (~S$30k) | Not eligible (S$120k income). Skip. |
| Upgraders (~S$120k) | Only if S$14,000 in 2 months is spend you already planned, like a big family trip. |
| Towkays (S$500k+) | Citigold and Citigold Private Client customers can get up to 162,500 points with lower spend (S$12,000 / S$10,000), per Citi’s Citigold T&Cs. AUM rules apply. Same 30 Nov deadline. |
How to hit S$14,000 without wasting money
- Time it. Apply just before the big purchase, since the 2 months start from approval. Spend is counted by transaction date in Singapore time.
- Bring the family in. Supplementary cardholders’ spend counts towards the S$14,000, per Citi’s T&Cs.
- Don’t return things after. Citi can claw back the gift if refunds push you below S$14,000.
Compare: bonus vs your usual card
| S$14,000 spend on… | Miles (our maths) |
|---|---|
| A typical 1.2-1.4 mpd general card | 16,800 to 19,600 |
| Citi Prestige spend bonus alone | 25,000 |
| Citi Prestige spend + fee bonus | 45,000 (for S$651.82 fee) |

Otto's verdict
Otto Miles Goes Undercover
☕ What 45,000 miles gets the family
Otto's overall ratingEach factor is worth up to 1 point. The perks only earn back the fee if you travel 3+ times a year, golf often or spend S$12k a quarter for the limo.
About one Saver Business seat from Singapore to the Maldives or South Asia (45,000 one way), on SIA’s award chart. Otto’s call: a solid card for hotel-loving families who already have the spend lined up. If you don’t, no stress, sign-up offers come around regularly.
Not financial advice. Approval is at Citi’s discretion, and Citi can change or end this offer anytime. Checked 3 Nov 2026. See our disclosure.
